📖 Case studies that read like a story

The case study reader was rebuilt around how hiring managers actually consume them.

• Decision Loop expanded by default — no more "click to reveal" friction

• New narrative order: Context → Approach → Metrics → Results → Skills

• Audience-friendly phase labels (written for hiring managers, not PMs)

• Reading progress bar + a floating Get in Touch link that follows the reader down the page

• Full-width images for single visuals so screenshots actually breathe

We completed a full WCAG 2.1/2.2 audit and remediation across the app — labels, contrast, focus management, ARIA, touch targets. Every portfolio is now more accessible to every recruiter who opens it, including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or assistive tech.

🐛 Bug fixes

• GitHub link now persists when you reopen the editor (it was saving but disappearing from the form — fixed)

• Theme presets now apply correctly in full preview

• Magic links from "Request Access" now deep-link to the specific case study you requested

• OG meta tags now render correctly when portfolios are shared on Slack, LinkedIn, and other platforms

• Sidebar is always openable in the builder

🆕 The changelog has a new home

You're reading this on the new prodfolio.io/changelog. Until today, our release notes lived on a third-party feedback tool. They worked, but they didn't build anything for the people most likely to care: customers comparing Prodfolio to alternatives, and search engines (or AI assistants) trying to answer "what's new in Prodfolio." Hosting our release history on our own domain fixes both.

• Stable URLs. Every release now lives at /changelog/your-update-here — easy to link in support tickets, sales calls, and social.

• Full content + screenshots instead of summaries hidden behind a third-party widget.

• Filter by what you care about — New, Improved, or Fixed.

• RSS feed at /changelog/rss.xml for anyone who wants updates in their reader of choice.

• Full backfill. Every release from launch through April is here, with original dates and screenshots.

Feature requests still live on our feedback board — we read every submission.

• We have moved the skills and tools towards the bottom to spotlight the summary and context.

🐛 Bug Fixes

• GitHub link now persists in the editor - previously, your GitHub profile link saved correctly but disappeared when you reopened the builder.

• YouTube Shorts URLs now work in video embeds - Shorts links (youtube.com/shorts/...) were being rejected as invalid, even though YouTube was working.

What's changed:

• Case study limit doubled: Create up to 6 case studies (was 3)

• Carousel view: Portfolios with 4+ case studies now display in a sleek, swipe-able carousel

Finally see what's happening with your portfolio. No more publishing into the void.

What you can track:

• Total views with trends: See if your portfolio is gaining traction week-over-week

• Case study rankings: Know which projects resonate most, so you lead with your strongest work

• Visitor actions: Resume downloads, email clicks, LinkedIn visits, video plays. Every signal that someone's looking deeper

• Traffic sources: LinkedIn? Direct link? Other referrers? Know where to focus your outreach

• Multi-portfolio comparison: If you have more than one portfolio, see which is your "Most Popular." This is great for trying portfolios against one another.

💻 Active Projects

You can now add case studies for projects you're still working on — not just the ones you've shipped.

Here's why this matters for your job search:

• Show momentum, not just history. Hiring managers want to see how you think right now. Building a side project with Cursor or Lovable? That's portfolio-worthy, even before it's done.

• Less pressure to have "perfect" case studies. Mark a project as Active, fill in what you know, and publish it. You can update it as the project evolves.

• Only the Situation section is required. We relaxed the validation so you can get something live without waiting for outcomes.

Active Projects show up with an amber badge so viewers know you're still building. Real work in progress still shows credibility, whether you're job searching or actively employed. (See below)

🔧 Other fixes and cleanup

• Timeline improvements: Your career progression now shows most recent first, and we replaced those confusing arrows with cleaner connectors.

• Loom thumbnails: You can now upload custom thumbnails for Loom videos. Faster load times on live portfolios, and you control what viewers see first.

• Smoother signup: One step instead of three. Terms of Service is now passive consent (less clicking), and marketing opt-in is optional.

• Builder cleanup: Case study deletion is now easier and available on all case studies. We've also cleaned up the text, removed examples for obvious cases, and added highlighting when we use AI to extract data.

• Faster dashboard loading: Settings and portfolio pages were loading slower than they should. Fixed.

That screen freeze when you clicked "duplicate," "unpublish," or "delete"? Squashed.

“Built with Prodfolio” Improvements

We cleaned up how the banner works:

• When someone views your portfolio, they see "Built with Prodfolio"

• When you view it, you'll also see a "✨ Remove banner" upgrade link

• Removed the Featurebase widget from portfolio pages

Loading & Performance

• Faster page loading

• Smoother theme transitions

Known issue: Dashboard and settings pages are loading slower than we'd like. We've traced it to our chatbot SDK and are actively working on a fix. Your other pages shouldn't be affected.

🔧 Technical Stuff

• Updated sign-up page design (it's different from log in now - intentionally!)

• Marketing opt-in checkbox added to sign-up

• Access management moved to side panel navigation

• Better messaging: gone are the tiny toast notifications in the corner. You'll now see clear messages when it's time to upgrade.

✨ Experience improvements

• Notifications now auto-dismiss after 5 seconds

• Fixed dashboard name loading (no more "Welcome, there")

• Cleaner free tier branding with official Prodfolio logo watermark

• We adjusted free tier AI credits from 1 to 5 generations. Why? We want to keep Prodfolio value-focused, offering enough up front for you to publish your first portfolio without getting stuck. When you hit the limit, you'll see a clear upgrade option with all the benefits spelled out.

💬 You can now tell us what's broken (or what you want next)

• We added FeatureBase, a feedback widget where you can report bugs, request features, and upvote what matters to you. Feedback you provide will directly inform our roadmap! Click the chat button in the bottom right of the app to try it.

🔧 Technical stuff

• Updated Stripe API, to be on the latest version

• Improved error handling for resume parsing, because clear is kind

Portfolio actions freezing
When you click "duplicate," "unpublish," or "delete" on the portfolios page (the three dots), the screen will freeze.

Quick fix: Refresh your browser and you'll be back up and running.

What we're doing: This is on our bug board and will be prioritized for next week's deployment.
